A ramble of an eve with a plethora of gracious and amazing musicians!
In addition to lots of other gigs I've been playing regularly with Phil Lesh and Friends at Terrapin Crossroads. Lesh, through these experiences I've gotten to make music with a slew of stellar musicians including Chris Robinson and Adam Macdougall of The Black Crowes, Jeff Chimenti and John Kadlicek (Further), Nicki Bluhm, Neal Casal (Hard Working Americans), Rob Borraco and Rob Eaton of Dark Star Orchestra as well as all the usual suspects like Stu Allen, Lebo, Scott Law, Grahame Lesh, Elliot Peck, Alex Koford, and Ross James.
It's been truly spectacular digging into this legendary American song book with one of the guys that helped write it, as well as exploring the outer realms of improvisation rock n' roll with one of the founding pioneers of the entire concept! Here is a video of one of my favorite Phil & Friends shows to date.
It was really wonderful to emulate this musical experience with a fresh take with Phil Lesh, a man who has nothing to prove yet still emits so much joy in the music, 40 years after the fact, along with his son Grahame (not a thought in the universe in 72') and all these other stellar musicians. A couple of weeks ago I had the distinct honor of playing a set of music with one of the all time greats, bassist Phil Lesh, of the Grateful Dead.
I was thrilled to be invited as a participant in Terrapin Crossroads first ever "Hootenanny".
All tickets will be honored at the newly schedueled date, but if interested in a refund, refunds can be made at the Denville Library.
